The following are the 5 shelters in the
Boston area we focus on, primarily because they are smaller operations, and we believe in what they're doing and the
respect with which they treat the homeless. If you see something you like, don't hesitate to contact these great organizations
about a donation.

Winter Clothing Drive
So today is October
14th, and after having put up Halloween decorations last night, I find myself contemplating Christmas decorations, which
in turn has me thinking about holidays in general - family, friends, Maine, Thanksgiving, stuffing my face and watching
football in a warm house. On the back side of that I find myself thinking about lack of money, complaining about lingering
bills, people in Boston traffic, and my personal general lack of progress financially. At which point I think to myself
that a lot of people would love to have those things to enjoy and those things to complain about as well, especially people
who have pretty much nothing and live on the street. People who live on the street whether it's a beautiful Spring day or
a brutal Winter night.
People we can help.
We are starting up our
annual Winter clothing drive for Boston's homeless - any kind of clothing you have that you'd like to donate we'll take, especially
Winter clothing items. Last year, for whatever reason, we had hardly any clothing donations - a record low for us actually,
but regardless, we are relentless when it comes to this because it is one of the easiest and one of the most important things
we can do to help the homeless - keeping them from freezing.
So if you have any old
coats, hats, or gloves you're thinking of donating, or maybe your stuff is still good but you'd really like to get something
new for yourself, this is your perfect excuse. Let us know and we will gladly take whatever you've got, and we'll get it to
those who need it.
Thank You
Peace

3 ways
to donate clothing
1. Drop it off at Standard
Electric Supply Co. located at 960 Mass Ave. in Boston - I work there - either ask for me or you can just drop it in the Winter
Clothing Donation Box.
2. Bring it to any
Stop The Bleeding Benefit show - even if you're not attending, I will be happy to accept your clothing donation.
3. Give me a call
or an e-mail - I may be able to come to you and pick it up - depending on when and where.

If you would like to donate clothing but don't have anything in particular of your own to donate, you can still
help - as always, certain stores around the Boston area will be selling hats, gloves, scarves, socks, liner gloves, and
things of that nature for as little as $1 each. This is a great inexpensive
way to help the homeless, when you consider that for as little as $1 you can help prevent someone
from getting frostbite and possibly dying - for $1. No BS scam here, just the truth. The following
stores usually carry these $1 items during the winter season:
Dollar Tree
K-Mart
Family Dollar
Dollar Fun(Malden)
*also*
the Revere Flea Market(in
the Revere movie theater parking lot) has $1 Winter clothing items.

Stop
The Bleeding still needs a few things to more effectively put on our benefit shows. If anyone would like to play Santa Claus
and help us out with any of these things, let us know.
Here's
what we need:
1. Venues for our benefit shows. This has been and continues to be the biggest problem we
have with getting these shows going. We need places that will let us use their room free of charge for our shows.
2.
Stage lighting equipment for our live shows.
